Boom

So what is this? Today I "popped my cherry." I fired a 155 MM howitzer. That is a big gun...and loud. What is so amazing is how this little piece can launch a 95 lbs high explosive projectile at incredible velocities and distance (by igniting the powder charge). I think the biggest lesson is that the small things in life can have huge consequences. The second lesson is to not drink anything the gun crew gives you...it is *NOT* Hawaiian Punch no matter what they say.

Update:This is a gun:

The E-course

This weekend, I ran the E-course at the Basic School. It is a 5-mile trail course sprinkled with obsticles. The end result is a pretty stiff physical event. Then to top it off, you run it with gear. Here's a small section. *Warning, I was running, so you may get sick if you watch it too closely*.

Fun stuff.

Here's Sarah clearing the wall.

The Marines after the e-course.

Some post-E-course pull-ups from the motivated wife.

Fun stuff.

Greatest. Interview. Ever.

Glenn Beck vs. Jack McClellan.

Bahahahaha. Best line: "Does this make you a hypocrite...or an idiot?" It's around 3:40.

Making progress on moving in

Being labor day weekend, Sarah and I have been hard at work settling in. For proof, here's our current conditions:

Here we see Sarah finishing the last Harry Potter book.
Our fabulous study/kitchen area with our ever-faithful 266 Mhz "server."
If you turn your head...you see the laundry closet...er room.
The most important room in the house. We definitely like the tub.
We won't cover our bedroom quite yet, as it's still a mess.
